I Built My Own Morning Newspaper with AI. Here's How To Make Yours
How to build a personal AI morning newspaper with Claude: the news in your industry, what competitors posted, and your angle on it, waiting every morning.
Short answer: an AI morning newspaper is a page that fills itself every morning with the news in your industry, what your competitors posted, and what it means for you. You build it once with Claude, feed it from a few sources, and schedule it to refresh before you wake up.
Mine is called The Nomad Times (obviously). It pops out of my content planner every morning, and it’s become my favourite thing I’ve built.
What’s in mine
- The news, in plain English. Every Claude and Anthropic update, translated out of tech-speak, with a line on why it matters to my audience.
- What competitors posted. The creators in my space, what they posted, the numbers, why it worked, and my version of it.
- My angle. A suggested take for each story, so I can post about new launches within 48 hours.
Why a newspaper and not a list
Because I’ll read a front page. I won’t read a list of 40 links. Making it look like an actual newspaper (headline, stories, columns) sounds like a gimmick and it’s the reason I open it every day.
How to build yours
1. Decide your sections. Industry news, competitors, and one thing that affects your business (prices, regulations, supplier news). 3 is plenty.
2. Pick your sources. Official blogs, a few accounts you watch, a newsletter or two. Fewer, better sources beat everything-everywhere.
3. Ask Claude to design the page. Something like:
Build me a one-page newspaper front page as an HTML artifact called [NAME].
Sections: [your 3 sections]. Each story gets a headline, a 2-line plain-English
summary and one line on what it means for a [your business]. Warm, easy to read,
no jargon.
4. Feed it and schedule it. Once you like the design, set it to refresh each morning from your sources. That’s what a scheduled task (an “AI agent”) is. It’s less scary than it sounds.
Ideas for other businesses
- A café: local events this week, supplier price changes, what nearby spots are posting
- An estate agent: new listings nearby, rate news, what competitors are pushing
- A coach: news in your niche, questions people are asking online, your content angle

Quick answers
What is an AI morning briefing?
A short summary that lands at the same time every day, pulling together your inbox, calendar, tasks and anything else you care about, so you know what needs you before you open a single app.
Can Claude send me a daily summary automatically?
Yes, with a scheduled task. You write the instructions once and Claude runs them at the time you set each morning.
What should go in a business morning brief?
What needs a reply today, what's in the calendar, what's overdue, and one or two numbers you track. Keep it short enough to read with a coffee.
